Join us for Sabar, one of four vibrant, one-hour classes happening at MLK Community Dance Day on January 20th.  Celebrated for its rhythmic complexity and sophisticated movement this dance style is referred to as the national pulse of Senegal.  This intermediate-level, high-energy dance class is driven by the sharp, unconventional beats of the sabar drum where dancers are challenged to master swift shifts of balance while maintaining a cool, controlled demeanor.

    Connect to your roots and feel the pulse of tradition with Master Drummer Vado Diomande. Spaces are limited, so be sure to register in advance to secure your spot! Walk-ins are welcome on a first-come, first-served basis, and if you have your own drum, we encourage you to bring it along.

    Challenge your dance skills in the intermediate level, high energy class with Babacar M'Baye as you master sharp rhythms and the swift movements of this complex and sophisticated Senegalese dance style.
