Cumbe welcomes Rosangela Silvestre for her first Silvestre intensive workshop with us happening this spring. This week-long deep dive will take you through the Silvestre Dance Technique, Symbology of the Orixá Dances and Symbology of the Caboclos in daily workshops culminating in a celebration and informal presentation of a collectively created work on the final day. Silvestre Technique is a body training system that connects the three triangles of energy within the body with the elements of nature represented by the dynamic movements and gestures of the Orixa Dances within Brazilian folklore. The technique works to create a dialogue with the body that builds form and intention with the elements and energy centers while making way for personal expression. By giving attention, significance and space for each action, this workshop guides dancers to improve their contemporary technique and dance. Students of all levels who want to experience, practice and improve are welcome.

Roseangela creates a space where from all skill levels and different dance backgrounds are in fact more connected to each other, despite the superficial barriers coming together in transcendence of the barriers between us. Connect to your movement practice in a way that you have never before understood or experienced. Through your individual experience of the sacred as valued revealing the deeper truths of being their own unrepeatable body.

For all Technique classes, we ask that participants wear no loose clothing and no bright colors.  We suggest black dance/active wear, no jewelry, and the hair to be tied back.
