With workshops led by the extraordinary Quenia Ribeiro and Andoche Loubaki, these two cultures, connected through history and movement, offer the perfect way to end the year on a joyful and reflective note.

1-2:30pm💃 Samba Dance with Quenia Ribiero: Explore vibrant Samba styles from Rio de Janeiro and Bahia, including Samba No Pé, Miudinho, and Samba Reggae. Quenia also highlights Afro-Brazilian dances rooted in Angola, Congo, Benin, and Nigeria. Each class features a dynamic warm-up, strength-building exercises, and a soothing cool-down.

2:15-4:15pm🥁 Congolese Dance w/ Andoche Loubaki: “In Join Andoche as he explores a dance he calls, “Both Sides.” This is a tribute to the lands of Brazil and Congo. Although far apart, they have similarities in their movements and cultures because of how Africans, including Congolese, were dispersed throughout the Americas. Get your body moving, your waistline rolling and feel the vibrant spirit of Congolese dance to the lively sounds of the Ngoma Drum.
