Erminia Apolinario

Erminia Apolinario is originally from Vitoria, Espírito Santo, a city located between Rio de Janeiro and Bahia. She was raised listening to a variety of Brazilian music and started singing in her mom’s backyard under a guava tree as a little girl. Since she moved to the USA in the early 80’s, she has collaborated with a variety of musicians and dance companies: Jelon Vieira Dance Brazil, Katende Band, Retumba con Pie, Nego Gato Band, Fusha Dance Company, and Batala NY, to name a few. She is an independent vocal artist also working on her own album. Additionally, she owns and cooks for an Afro-Brazilian catering business called ZKA Brazilian Soul Food.
