The day we’ve all been waiting for is here!  We are READY and DELIGHTED to welcome you to our new home at RestorationART!
We invite you all to come on out and fill our new home with your spirit and joy!

Saturday, Nov. 11
Community Dance Day
A day of $5 dance classes for everyone: young children (ages 1 to 4), dance fitness, and traditional and contemporary African/Diaspora movement. Stay tuned for the full schedule.

Sunday, Nov. 12
Start of Adult Dance Classes
Your favorite teachers are BACK!
In our weekly lineup there’s West African with Lamine Thiam, Ousmane Sall and Mouminatou Camara; Afro-Cuban with Danys ‘La Mora’ Perez and Stevie Insua; Dance Fitness with Johari Mayfield and Bajanalla Cann and more!

And, through the end of the year, we are offering a special introductory price of $12 for our 60- and 90-minute classes, and $14 for 2-hour classes.

Gede Celebration with Julio Jean and Mikerline Pierre at Gibney Dance Center

Celebrate life and death with the Gede spirits through song, dance, and drums! Thanks to Julio Jean, the Gede celebration has become an annual Cumbe tradition and we hope you’ll join us this year!


Through Dec. 22 Cumbe Kidz Classes
Check out our wonderful teachers and classes for ages 1 to 4, including

Journey Through the Diaspora with Goussy Célestin, Capoiera with Pena Verde, and Playtime with Mrs. Red Fox with Johari Mayfield.

Ongoing Classes at Gibney Dance Center

On Tuesdays from 6pm to 8pm, enjoy West African with Lamine Thiam, and spend your Saturdays doing Rumba with Stevie Insua from 4:30pm to 6pm.


Finally, all of us at Cumbe send a huge thank you to our entire community for supporting and loving us while we’ve been ‘in the diaspora’.  We are thrilled to be back in BK and cannot wait to dance with YOU!
