It’s the first day of February, and classes start tomorrow in several interim locations (most are in Brooklyn, and one – Gibney Dance – is in lower Manhattan). We are happy to say that we’ll be able to continue many (though not all) of our classes. We hope to find a location soon to hold more classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, so stay tuned for schedule updates.
Classes start on Monday, February 2nd, in four locations:
- Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays we will be at Brooklyn Friends School (375 Pearl Street, off Willoughby Street)
- Wednesdays and Sundays we will be at Long Island University – located one block away at Flatbush and DeKalb Avenues
- Our children’s classes will be at Brooklyn Ballet (160 Schermerhorn between Hoyt and Smith Streets) and Brooklyn Friends School (375 Pearl Street (near Willoughby)
- Through a new partnership with Gibney Dance, Julio Jean will teach an Afro-Haitian class at their lower Manhattan location (280 Broadway, entrance on Chambers Street) on Tuesdays from 8:00 to 9:45pm.
After our lease was broken last year, we’ve been searching for a new home and think we’re close to finding it! We know you’ve been waiting for news of where Cumbe will be moving and thank you for your patience as the final details get worked out.
Please know we will communicate any new information as soon as we have it. To help us reach you, please make sure we have your correct e-mail address and phone number, and stay tuned to our website, Facebook page, Tumblr, Instagram, and Twitter feeds!
