House music and dance are spiritual, physical and soulful expressions in their purest forms. House has the ability to connect strangers, to elevate your spirit to a higher frequency, and to heal and rebuild. This workshop series is intended to be physical, technical, inspirational and educational, covering basic movement foundations and concepts of house dance movement.  You’ll learn grooving, jacking, isolations, footwork, floor work, partnering and play through fun drills and diverse choreography. Featuring live music provided by DJ Jedeye Jaxx, workshops will focus on the relationship between the dance and the music, while you develop your own style.  The workshop is taught by  the ladies of MAWU, a dance crew representing New York’s finest in the underground house community. MAWU is  best known for its dynamic performances, diverse styles, playful energy and a collective freestyle flow that embodies strength, sensuality and pure joy. Come out and play!
