Cumbe: Center for African and Diaspora Dance invites you to feel the joy of African-rooted dance in a series of three dance workshops.
- Introductory workshops: Cumbe will offer two dance workshops for beginners. You will get a solid introduction to one style of African/Diaspora dance and learn all you need to know to continue taking dance classes after the workshops are over.
- Intermediate workshop: Are you already a dancer? Cumbe will offer one dance workshop for experienced students. This workshop will provide you with a chance to deepen your knowledge of one particular dance style.
All workshop participants will have the chance to perform in a student showcase at Cumbe. In addition, participants will be eligible to buy two months of Cumbe classes for a discounted price after the workshops are over. We want you to make dance a regular part of your life!
PLUS! FREE childcare during the workshops!
The workshops will take place from November 4 to December 12, 2018. Each workshop will consist of six weekly sessions, each lasting 90 minutes and will feature live drumming. The student showcase performance will be held December 15.
